Need help assisting our neighbors?

Through their work in Washington, Columbus and Cleveland, Democrats make the lives of everyone better. But we’re not the only making a difference. There are many great organizations in Northeast Ohio that are looking out for you and our community. Here are some examples.

Community Resources

Financial Assistance

Find how to apply for financial assistance in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. Struggling families, seniors, and the low income can get help with rent payments or energy bills, a free box of food, bus passes, and even prescription drugs or medical bill assistance. Find help with paying those bills and others from charities, government assistance programs as well as non-profits or churches in the region. Find how to get financial help with bills near you in Cuyahoga County below as well as free items and social services.

Incentives and Financing

The City of Cleveland has a variety of loans and grants to help expand your company or relocate your company to Cleveland. In addition, we work with Cuyahoga County and the State of Ohio to bring other resources to finance your needs. Below are a list of City programs. Our skilled staff can also customize a financial package for your company in seven business days

Energy Assistance

Home energy costs can be challenging for Ohioans on fixed or low incomes. The Ohio Department of Aging partners with the Ohio Development Services Agency, the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, and Ohio’s aging network to provide programs and information to help eligible older Ohioans.

In 2022, LEAP received a grant from the Cuyahoga County Department of Senior and Adult Services which allows LEAP to offer discounted rates – but – ONLY for participants who meet the grantee’s eligibility requirements.  This discounted rate is for participants who are seniors, ages 60 and over or aged 18 – 59 w/a disability as determined by the Social Security Administration and reside in Cuyahoga County.  Participants must be approved in order to receive the discounted rate

Cleveland Foundation

The Cleveland Foundation believes all Greater Cleveland residents deserve vibrant, healthy neighborhoods. Together with donors and community partners, we focus on the intersections of:

  • People: connecting residents in meaningful ways;
  • Place: enhancements to the built and natural environment; and
  • Power: organizing, advocacy, policy and systems change to help Greater Clevelanders imagine, build and sustain neighborhoods they care about and feel connected to.

From large-scale initiatives to individual organizations, we highlight some of the key partners and projects in our approach to neighborhood development

The State will provide reimbursement for tuition to help pay the cost of attending these schools. Even if your child already attends one of these schools, you may be eligible to apply for the program.
